Our son David spent his earlier education years shuffling from one public school to another. No particular school was more successful than another in teaching or controlling David. He learned little and proved almost impossible to control. That is, until he arrived at Bonim Lamokom.
At the Yeshiva, David has transformed himself from an undisciplined student to a yeshiva bochur. He has learned to daven with great emotion his specialty. He has learned to listen, to behave, to share with others and to act as a member of klal Israel.
No, the Downs did not go away. The mental slowness did not disappear. But what the yeshiva has given David is new hope and meaning to his existence.

Yeshiva Bonim Lamokom is a dream come true for our son and the rest of
our family too!
Moishey has such a yeshiva 'bren' in himself, which Bonim Lamokom is
fueling and feeding. The education, the motivation, the inspiration,
all make such a great combination. The Torah education nourishes his
soul and really brings him into the community's mainstream; he now has
the knowledge of the weekly parsha just like his 'normal' peers in the
synagogue and in the neighborhood. Moishey has also learned to daven to
perfection and he is 'at home' in a siddur, machzur, chumash, and
tehillim. He sometimes even gets the kovod of being shaliach tzibur in
our local shul, all thanks to Yeshiva Bonim Lamokom.
Moishey's secular knowledge has also increased manyfold since the
inception of Bonim Lamokom. His computer skills, handwriting
improvements, reading, math, money and social skills, all attest to the
hard work that his teachers are putting in. Moishey's insistence on
purchasing, reading, and understanding five weekly newspapers are
testimony to all the knowledge that he is imbued with at Yeshiva Bonim
Lamokom.
We thank the Ribono Shel Olam every day that this yeshiva was 'born'
during our times, to fill our need and to help the families of
Moishey's friends and schoolmates as well..
